Inspiration:

My personal banner inspiration was mainly focused on Bisa Butler's intricate textile portraits, since my artistic style shares a similar vibrancy and expressive use of color, but through painting rather than fabric collage. Bisa construct her compositions entirely of stitched fabrics, I achieve a comparable effect with bold brushstrokes and dynamic color blending. I would like to merge these techniques by painting a face and incorporating stitched elements to add texture , depth and a striking contrast and interplay between the paint and fabric.
